The number 48 holds a special place in Sidharism.  48 is made up of 27 stars, 12 zodiac signs and 9 planetary bodies.  These are the main influencing bodies for our solar system.  Just like tides are affected by the Moon, these 48 heavenly bodies affect not only our solar system but also each person’s path through life.

There are 48 Pathinen Sidhars, 48 Mahavir Jains, 48 Adi Sankracharyar’s, 48 Jesus Christ’s, 48 Mohammed Nabi’s, etc.  When Mohammed said he was the last, he actually meant that he was the last of the 48 Mohammed’s to take birth.  Similarly, Jesus Christ is the 47th and there will be one more Jesus Christ yet to be born.
